Cedar Video Countdown

“Watford indie four piece Cedar will be releasing a series of videos in the run up to Christmas promoting a free download track to support their current acoustic tour, which includes a date supporting ex – Inspiral Carpets frontman Tom Hingley.

From Saturday 8th November, every Saturday for the next four weeks at 11am a new video will appear simultaneously at the Cedar blog and Myspace. To claim the free track at the end of the four weeks, fans can leave a comment on the Myspace page and Cedar blog, or embed the videos on their own website. The track will then be e-mailed to fans for free.

“It’s a great initiative that shows the different ways that the band are connecting with their audience,” said Elliot Pearson of Smooth One Records, who will be distributing the track. “We’ve been looking at ways to keep the band current and proactively generate industry interest, and this will hopefully go some way to achieving that.”

Cedar guitarist Ross Churchill said, “It’s an interesting idea and a great way to keep things fresh. We’re always looking to do something different and this gives us the chance to experiment with exciting ways of reaching new fans, as well as recording something different. We’re playing the Barfly next year and we want to build on the momentum following our recent headline gig at The Fly. It seems like a sensible thing to do in the middle of this acoustic tour, plus it’s a nice Christmas present for the fans!”
